  • Enclomiphene citrate is a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) used to support healthy testosterone levels in men.
  • Unlike traditional TRT, enclomiphene works by signaling your brain to produce more luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) — which tell your testes to make more testosterone naturally.
  • Helps restore energy, focus, libido, and mood while preserving fertility and natural production.
  • A great option for men who want to optimize testosterone but maintain reproductive health, or who prefer an oral medication over injections.
  • Convenient once-daily dosing — no needles, no refrigeration.
  • Prescribed only after lab review by a licensed clinician.

Before you start

Make sure you'll qualify — before you pay for labs.

Labs must be drawn between 7 and 10 a.m. and within the last 6 months, with no testosterone supplementation during that window. Most existing labs don't meet all four markers, the timing window, or the recency rule — plan on a Quest visit if you're unsure. If your current labs don't meet criteria, we'll send you to a Quest location for a fresh draw.

Required labs (last 6 months, 7–10 a.m.)

  • Total Testosterone

Drawn 7–10 a.m. (levels peak in the morning).

  • Hemoglobin

Disqualifying if HCT > 50 or Hgb > 16.5 at baseline.

  • PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen)

Compared against age-banded upper limits; elevated PSA requires evaluation before TRT.

  • LH (Luteinizing Hormone)

Helps distinguish primary vs secondary hypogonadism.

Common disqualifiers

  • Personal history of prostate, breast, or testicular cancer
  • PSA above the age-banded upper limit (e.g., > 2.5 for ages 40–49; > 3.5 for 50–59; > 4.5 for 60–69)
  • Hematocrit > 50% at baseline (with no prior TRT)
  • Heart attack or stroke within the past 6 months
  • Uncontrolled congestive heart failure
  • Severe, untreated obstructive sleep apnea
  • Actively trying to conceive — testosterone reduces fertility; consider enclomiphene instead

How it works

The science, simplified.

Enclomiphene blocks estrogen receptors in the hypothalamus, prompting increased release of LH and FSH. This signals the testes to produce more testosterone naturally — restoring healthy levels while preserving fertility and natural function.
